<p>Privately-owned WoW servers have been dropping like flies over the last day or two following the receipt of letters from Blizzard's lawyers under the DMCA. They've been shut down so fast and swiftly that they're being called "the end of private servers" by a lot of people. The largest and most well known servers like Toxic WoW and Ani-WoW have been all gone, and it seems that it's just a matter of time before the smaller ones are shut down, too. It is believed that this letter contains a pretty long list of servers and sites that are set to go down.

<p>Some of these sites have declared their day over and shut down their servers and will go on with their lives, however there are others who are talking about starting them back up in another location, called 'underground.' It's the internet. It's a bit absurd. Blizzard is watching, and it appears this issue has moved up a notch on their priority list. My advice? Don't be tempted by fate.
