In the spring of 1819, a younger fellow by the title of Henry Shaw from Sheffield, England landed in the small French village if St. Louis, Missouri. There he set up a company selling hardware to the settlers that were heading out from the "Gateway to the West." Company was good and he was able to retire by the age of forty. Ole Henry would quickly turn out to be the biggest landowner in the city. He constructed Tower Grove House, which grew to become his estate, and purchased quite a bit of land about it.

The Suffolk Center For Cultural Arts is a new addition to Suffolk. It was reworked from the old Suffolk Higher College, and now homes many concerts, performs, and visitor speakers. There are courses that you can consider there such as songs, dance, and theater!

Sponsored by the American Visionary Artwork Museum, this summer time sequence is inspired by the present museum exhibit "What Tends to make Us Smile?" All manner of comedy films will be screened every Thursday in The Hughes Family members Outdoor Theater, capable of seating over a thousand individuals. Irish Charities of Maryland is hosing A taste of Guinness on Thursday October 21, 2010. A taste of Guinness will be held at FOP Lodge #3 on 3920 Buena Vista Baltimore, MD 21211 (p) 410-243-9141. This event will have meals samplings of Guinness impressed dishes from region eating places. The characteristics are restricted. The event begins at 6:15pm and judging will start at eight:30pm. Awards will be given for the "People's Choice" and "Chef's Choice". There will be celebrity judges and Live Music by James Gallagher & Off the Boat from 7:00pm-11:00pm. Admission is $10.00 per individual. There is a cash bar and parking is free. All proceeds from this event will advantage the Irish Charities of Maryland, which is a charitable business.
