As a young man, a date at the movies will put both people at ease and allow the situation to be less demanding of stressed conversation. Followed by dinner or another activity will allow them to converse after having relaxed during the movie. Also, the movie will serve as a conversational piece and a topic starter can be drawn from the film.

This is why I would suggest a movie prior to another event. As you said, I agree that listing all of the movie times is a bit unnecessary. She is definitely avoiding him because either she figured out that she only liked kicking it with him as friends after the date or knew before the date and thought she'd give it a shot.

If he acted too interested, then it's a turnoff. It's all about the chase. One person always chases the other one more but it has to stop when one person acts too desperate because they just come off as weak.
